Child & Vulnerable Persons Protection Policy

Last updated: January 2025

1. Our Commitment

LoveSprout Children, Family and Community Services is committed to the safety and well-being of all children and vulnerable persons who participate in our programs and activities. This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, and contractors.

2. Screening Requirements

All volunteers and staff who work with children or vulnerable persons must undergo a criminal background check, including a vulnerable sector search, prior to beginning their role.

3. Safe Environment Standards

LoveSprout maintains safe environments by ensuring that adults are never alone with a child without another adult present, all activities are conducted in open, visible spaces, and physical contact with children is appropriate and child-initiated.

4. Reporting Obligations

All staff and volunteers are mandatory reporters. Any suspected or actual abuse or neglect must be reported immediately to the Program Coordinator and to the appropriate authorities.

5. Incident Response

All reported incidents are taken seriously and investigated promptly. LoveSprout cooperates fully with any law enforcement or child protection investigations.
